Holly's Blog - January 2012

Happy New Year everyone and best wishes for 2012 to all CHEC customers! We hope like us you had a lovely festive season and are ready to start the new year full of vim and vigour.

The new year sees us at CHEC properly launching an entirely new and exciting venture; CHEC Flowers! I mentioned in my article last month we are adding a new service to the gift arm of CHEC's business in the form of made-to-order bouquets and floral displays. Thanks to our Centre Assistant Nancy who has experience in this area, we are broadening our horizons and learning about the new challenges and skills needed to bring you, our customers, this new provision. It's an exciting and challenging time. It’s always interesting to learn new skills (all of us now know how to 'strip' a stem ready to be included in a bouquet!) but we have soon discovered there is a lot more to floristry than putting together a few pretty flowers. There are suppliers and wholesalers to find, prices of bouquets to calculate, not to mention the task of raising awareness of this new service, (a task that comes down to me as Media Assistant, hence this blog!) There is a lot to get done but we hope to be ready to accept orders in time for Valentine's Day on 14th February which we hope will get this venture kicked off to a flying start (with your help of course!). Orders are placed through the usual routes (just drop by the contact page) or by popping into see us, especially convenient if you happen to work on the Chailey Heritage site!

We're all eager to enter into this new area of business so why not bypass the usual petrol station posies and give us a try!
